Overview

In addition to myself on fiddle, Patrick's Cadillac features Steve Bennett, music director, on vocals, guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin, button accordion, and spoons; and Peter Suk on pennywhistle, later joined by Terry Sicherman Maluk on vocals, guitar, bodhran and other assorted percussion.

Patrick's Cadillac last played in the 1990s, performing primarily Irish repertoire for concerts and contra dances. A Patrick's Cadillac performance wove together high energy dance music with songs on such topics as the lives of working people, ancient mythologies, and more modern songs of immigration. This music is the precursor to American old-time, bluegrass, and country music and a continuation of the living tradition iteslf.
